Dear Wrestling Coaches:

Our featured clinicians for this year’s “Fritz Knorr Clinic” will be Steve Costanzo, Head Wrestling Coach: St. Cloud State University, and Ken Kepley, Head Coach: Pratt Community College. In addition to our main clinicians, the KWCA will also offer break-out sessions that will include Bill Johnson (Norton Community HS), Kit Harris (Baldwin HS), Nate Naasz (Beloit HS), and Doug Vander Linden (Burlington HS). We encourage all coaches to wear workout gear to allow them to practice techniques taught during the clinic. This will not be a workout session, merely an opportunity in small groups to help master technique emphasized at the clinic.

There are rooms blocked for this event at the Salina Ambassador Hotel and Convention Center. It has a restaurant, indoor pool, and game area. For reservations call (785) 823-1739. Check in begins at 3:00 p.m. and check-out time will be at 11:00 a.m.

The 2015-2016 season looks to be another great and exciting season at all levels. Each year Kansas wrestlers of all ages work hard and achieve their goals on and off the mat. This is due to the great guidance and coaching that you do everyday to bring out the best in your athletes. Kansas Wrestling will continue to become stronger as we work together at all levels to achieve the same goals. The KWCA is encouraging coaches of all levels: High School, Junior High/Middle School, and USAW-KS Club Member coaches to join and strengthen our KANSAS WRESTLING COACHES ASSOCIATION. Increased membership will bring many more new and exciting ideas from many different perspectives on how to improve KANSAS WRESTLING. This year we would like to challenge the Kansas Coaches at all levels to increase the membership to 250 strong members. The increased memberships will allow us to provide more resources to help Kansas wrestling continue to grow.

The clinic cost is $60 and includes your KWCA membership, fall clinic, and a banquet ticket. If you would like to join the KWCA but are unable to attend the clinic you may join for $45. Please return the registration form to our Treasurer, Doug Vander Linden (Burlington High School) at the address listed on the registration form.

As a reminder, coaches must be a paid member by Tuesday February 2, 2016 to be considered eligible for any postseason awards offered by the KWCA. Again this year the KWCA will be offering awards to all levels of coaches: High School, Junior High/Middle School, and USAW-KS Club Member. We encourage all in attendance to stay for the Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. to help honor and support all award winners.

Please share this information with ALL the coaches in your community and encourage their attendance and membership in the KWCA. We hope to see everyone in November and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the email address listed below. Thanks and together let’s make Kansas Wrestling stronger at all levels!
